Curio Legacy Job Opportunity: Contracts Manager

Who We Are

At Curio Legacy, we’re building a legacy of curiosity, innovation, and excellence. We’re a team dedicated to ushering in The Second Nuclear Era. Join us and make an impact!

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Contracts Manager to lead the commercial management of our project portfolio. This role serves as the primary authority for all contractual matters, from initial issuance through final closeout. You will be the "commercial guardian" of our agreements, ensuring that all obligations are met, risks are mitigated, and negotiations are handled with strategic precision.

While you will collaborate closely with Project Managers who handle technical implementation, you will own the commercial compliance and financial integrity of the contracts. “This is an opportunity to grow with a company at the forefront of nuclear technology, driven by world-class R&D and pioneering the best solutions in the field.”

What You’ll Do

  • Contract Lifecycle Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of contracts, including drafting, issuance, and formal execution.
  • Lead Negotiator: Serve as the primary negotiator for complex commercial terms, pricing structures, and legal protections to ensure favorable outcomes.
  • Supplier & Vendor Interface: Act as the professional liaison between the organization and external partners, maintaining strong relationships while holding vendors accountable to terms.
  • Contract Implementation & Modifications: Lead the transition from "signed deal" to "active project," managing all subsequent amendments, change orders, and scope modifications.
  • Commercial Compliance: Audit and monitor contract performance to ensure strict adherence to commercial milestones, payment terms, and regulatory requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with technical Project Managers to align commercial strategies with engineering or operational requirements.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential commercial risks or liabilities and develop proactive strategies to protect the organization’s interests.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or a related field.
  • Preferred Education: MBA or CPCM certification is a plus
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 to 10 years in contract administration, procurement, or commercial management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead capacity.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Negotiation Skills: Proven track record of navigating high-stakes negotiations with sophisticated suppliers.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to identify nuances in contract language that impact financial or legal risk.
  • Communication: Ability to translate complex legal/commercial jargon into actionable guidance for technical teams.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Deep understanding of UCC (Uniform Commercial Code) or relevant federal contracting regulations.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with cost-plus, fixed-price, and T&M contract types.

Salary Range

  • $105,000-$135,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Benefits

  • Competitive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401k Plan
  • Yearly stock options
  • Generous PTO and sick days
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Chance for advancement

Location

  • Must currently reside in or be willing to relocate to Birmingham, AL (Relocation assistance available)
