Director of Graduate Recruitment and Admissions

The Director of Graduate Recruitment and Admissions provides leadership to the graduate recruitment, admissions, and enrollment management efforts of the Office of Graduate Studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with the primary responsibility to develop and execute a strategic recruitment and enrollment plan appropriate for a decentralized campus. This includes; directing strategic recruitment efforts and building strong partnerships with academic programs to recruit highly-talented graduate students; overseeing a team of admissions evaluators and ensuring the effectiveness of the online graduate admissions system; leveraging CRM technology to support robust engagement and communication; analysis of application and enrollment data to monitor and provide regular updates for the university’s overall strategic enrollment plan; developing policies/procedures and building sustainable processes; and attending to industry best practices in graduate admissions and recruitment. The successful candidate will work closely with many campus partners, especially Global Affairs, Academic Services and Enrollment Management, and Online and Distance Education. The successful candidate will serve on the Graduate Studies Leadership Team.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience; equivalent education or experience considered.
- 2 years in graduate education, admissions, recruitment or enrollment.
- Experience in staff supervision, setting and achieving strategic objectives, and holding staff accountable.
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing data to make decisions.
- Ability to work effectively in collaboration with faculty
- Must possess a strong service-oriented philosophy and the ability to work effectively independently as well as a team member.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in graduate recruitment for online and/or on campus programs, admissions or enrollment including recruitment and support of international and graduate students.
- Demonstrated knowledge of broader issues and trends affecting graduate recruitment and admissions in higher education including international students.
- Prior experience with current software applications such as PeopleSoft, College Net, and Salesforce.
