Youth Minister / Director

First Christian Church of Rowlett is seeking a part-time Youth Minister/Director to lead and grow ministry with students in grades 6–12 and their families. We are looking for someone who loves youth, values relationships, and is excited to help young people experience the love of God through Jesus Christ, grow in faith, and become active leaders in the church.

Purpose

To intentionally invest in the lives of students by building authentic relationships, creating meaningful faith experiences, and guiding them toward a lasting, personal faith in Jesus Christ. This role exists to help students feel known, valued, and connected—both to God and to the life of the church—while equipping them to grow as disciples and leaders.

Position Details

· Part-time (Sunday participation required, including worship, Sunday school, and scheduled youth group gatherings)

· Estimated 10–15 hours per week on average, based on ministry responsibilities

· $14,000 per year (total package)

· Reports to Senior Minister/Pastor

· Focus on students in grades 6–12 and their families

Note: Compensation may be structured for ministers with standing according to church policy.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead scheduled youth gatherings

· Coordinate Sunday school lessons/activities

· Build relationships with youth and families

· Recruit and support volunteers as needed

· Encourage participation in worship and service

· Coordinate camps and regional events

· Maintain a safe, welcoming environment

· Communicate clearly with parents and families

Qualifications

· Strong Christian faith

· Experience working with youth

· Strong communication and relational skills

· Team-oriented mindset
