Role: Social media support & analytics
Leap to Success is a Carlsbad-based nonprofit focused on helping women rebuild their lives after trauma. It has helped more than 4,000 women over 15 years.
The cause you’d be supporting: Helping women rebuild their confidence after domestic violence, homelessness, and recovery from mental and physical health challenges.
You’ll report to Leap’s communications manager and work closely with the Marketing Advisory Committee.
Who you are
- Junior or Senior standing students
- Familiar with current trends, features, and content styles across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok
- Prior experience working on social media for an organization
- Major focused on women’s studies, health, psychology, or social work
- Available 20 hours per week
What you’ll do
- Support the development of a social media and content calendar that includes themes, topics, and campaigns
- Run analytics to glean insights on how to ramp up engagement
- Research and identify best practices to improve engagement across channels
- Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and care.
- Bring thoughtful judgment and care to content that reflects the organization’s values and the communities we serve
The part-time Marketing Intern will support the marketing and communications team by helping to strengthen the organization’s brand presence. This 20-hour-per-week role is perfect for a creative, detail‑oriented student or early‑career professional who wants hands-on experience in digital marketing, storytelling, and community engagement.
Responsibilities/Objectives of this role
Analytics & Reporting: Track performance metrics across platforms & compile insights to help guide future strategy
Social Media Management: Help schedule posts, track engagement, and brainstorm new ideas for growing our online presence.
Content Creation: Assist in writing social media posts, newsletters, blog content, and promotional materials.
Qualifications
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Interest in marketing, communications, or digital media
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok)
- Basic design skills (Canva, Adobe Express, or similar)
- Organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Bonus
- Experience with email marketing tools or website platforms (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, WordPress, etc.)
- Event Support: Help promote events and capture photos or short videos when needed.
- You’ll collaborate with and learn from a dedicated team of trauma‑informed program leaders and senior‑level marketing advisory volunteers who bring deep expertise and heart to their work.
