Electrician

Wapsi Current Electrical Service is hiring for the position of Journeyman Electrician. Qualified candidates should have experience in commercial and residential electrical service. This position will include both service and new installation work.

Qualified candidates must meet the following credentials, skills, and abilities:

• Valid Iowa journeyman electrician license (or valid reciprocal license)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (CDL preferred, but not required)
• Must have a safety-first mindset for all operations (OSHA 10 certification preferred)
• Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems in residential and commercial settings
• Ability to efficiently execute installation projects in a timely manner
• Ability to mentor and support apprentice electricians
• Must be able to run wire, dress panels, run conduit, etc. in a neat and workmanlike manner
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors
• Ability to read electrical blueprints and drawings and communicate changes effectively
• Must have basic computer skills
• Must be organized and able to manage project tools and materials
• Must be able to operate company vehicles and equipment, such as truck/trailer, man-lifts, trenchers, telehandlers, forklifts, etc.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of electrical installation work

Wapsi Current is based out of our shop South of Central City and primarily serves the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City metros and surrounding areas. We tackle projects within the commercial, residential, agricultural, and telecommunications industries.

• (4) 10 hr. days Monday - Thursday
• Day shift

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36.00 - $38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
