Director of Service

Sutherland & KC Presses — a leader in mechanical, hydraulic, and servo press systems for 80 years — is hiring a Director of Service to professionalize and scale our service organization in Southern California.

You’ll be the “tip of the spear” for customer success: leading field technicians and service engineers, managing installations, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance programs, and parts operations while driving revenue through I-PRESS retrofits, upgrades, and long-term contracts. Based in our brand-new Educational & R&D Showroom (with up to 10 presses under power), this hands-on role combines leadership, operational excellence, project coordination, and proactive business development.

In this role you will

Lead service delivery, technician scheduling, logistics, and on-site support to maximize customer uptime and satisfaction.

Scout and develop new business: ask every customer about upcoming press projects, control retrofits, and PMPs.

· Own parts sales, quoting, ordering, inventory, and logistics.

· Support new press build project management, imports, and start-ups in coordination with our team.

· Track activity, maintain documentation/CRM, and deliver weekly & monthly service and sales reports.

· Act as the central communication hub and escalate issues to protect our reputation.

What you bring: 7–15+ years in industrial press service or similar heavy equipment, strong technical knowledge of mechanical/hydraulic/servo systems, proven revenue-driving experience, excellent organization, and a customer-first mindset. Spanish is a plus.
