Legal Assistant - Real Estate/Zoning

Location: Leesburg, VA

Offer: $60,000 - $80,000 Base Salary. Health Benefits with Employer Contribution. PTO. 401(k).

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our Real Estate and Zoning department. The successful candidate will assist attorneys in various aspects of real estate transactions, zoning applications, and administrative tasks to ensure efficient operations within the legal team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with preparation and filing of legal documents related to real estate and zoning matters.
  • Conduct research on zoning regulations, property records, and related legal issues.
  • Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings for attorneys.
  • Maintain case files and documentation in an organized manner, ensuring easy access to information.
  • Prepare correspondence, memos, and other legal documents as required.
  • Communicate with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders regarding case updates and requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation for hearings, meetings, and trials by organizing necessary materials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a legal setting.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a related role.
  • Strong understanding of real estate and zoning law is preferred.
  • Proficient in legal software and case management systems (e.g., CASE).
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
