Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Location: Tyler, TX | Type: Full-Time, On-Site

Experience Level: Director/Manager (7+ years required)

Salary Range: $91,000 – $130,000

About the Role

We're seeking a results-driven Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead our manufacturing engineering, maintenance, and tooling functions. In this role, you'll drive operational excellence, oversee process optimization, and lead cross-functional teams to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.

Reporting directly to plant leadershi p, you'll have the opportunity to impact production efficiency, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and lead strategic capital projects in a growing manufacturing environment.

What You'll Own

Team Leadership & Development

Build and develop high-performing Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, and Tooling teams

Establish clear performance expectations and drive accountability

Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence

Process & Equipment Ownership

Own end-to-end manufacturing processes: design, optimization, and performance management

Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and reliability

Manage tooling and die operations, including design, fabrication, and optimization

Continuous Improvement & Strategic Initiatives

Lead capital projects: new product introductions, equipment installations, automation, and capacity expansions

Champion lean manufacturing and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) methodologies

Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to ensure process capability and product quality

Budget & Performance Management

Manage budgets for engineering, maintenance, tooling, and capital expenditures

Track and report KPIs including OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), downtime, and project execution metrics

Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams

Compliance & Safety

Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards, including machine guarding and LOTO procedures

Maintain regulatory compliance across all manufacturing operations

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field)

7–10 years of manufacturing engineering experience

3–5 years in a leadership or management role within a manufacturing environment

Hands-on experience with process design, equipment/maintenance oversight, and capital project management

Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems, equipment, and process optimization

Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and ERP systems

Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., TPM, Kaizen)

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Nice to Have

10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience with 5+ years in a leadership role

Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (Six Sigma, ASQ, etc.)

Experience in automotive, aerospace, or high-volume manufacturing

Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies and data analytics
