Specialist, Molecular Pathology
UMass Memorial Medical Center
Work closely with the Department of Anatomical Pathology as the lead
scientist in Molecular Pathology to identify and recommend opportunities
leading to the discovery of tumor related genes/pathways to further
advance tumor profiling and guide clinical therapeutic drug regiments.
Play a lead role in the mentoring of junior staff, students, and
residents with molecular theory, concept, and experimental approaches.
- Aid department academic activity, by mentoring Fellows/Resident and
Medical Students in various research projects from concept/design to
providing support in publication. - Integrate high dimensional data to
identify genes/pathways pertinent to tumor development and possible
treatments; discovery and implementation of new techniques to accelerate
the use of next generation sequencing for tumor fingerprinting. -Apply
technical experience at each step of the scientific method to facilitate
successful execution of experiments in a safe, effective, and
reproducible manner. -Resolve inter-disciplinary problems utilizing
scientific analytical skills, with a strong interest in the pursuit of
scientific discovery with emphasis on personalized medicine.
