Role Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be an integral part of our daily financial operations, working closely with our CPAs to support day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll, and the preparation of financial statements. This is a hands-on position perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Accounting & Bookkeeping: Manage and process accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) for multiple clients.
  • Reconciliations: Perform weekly and monthly reconciliations of bank, credit card, and loan accounts to ensure complete accuracy.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in drafting month-end and year-end financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss reports.
  • Tax Preparation Support: Gather and organize client documents, input data into tax software, and assist with finalizing individual and business tax returns.
  • Payroll Processing: Assist with processing and reviewing bi-weekly/monthly client payrolls and associated tax filings.
  • Client Personnel Support: Assist in onboarding and data entry for clients’ new hire process, while ensuring state and federal compliance.
  • Client Communication: Serve as a friendly, reliable point of contact for clients, answering their financial questions and following up on outstanding information.

Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field is preferred. Candidates with relevant Associate degrees and/or equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Experience: 1–3 years of professional accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably within a CPA or public accounting firm.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of cloud-based accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks Online and Desktop) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a high degree of integrity regarding confidential client information, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
