Electrical Maintenance Technician

Location: Ventura, CA

Compensation: $37/hr + Quarterly Production Bonus + Extensive Benefits

Type: Full-Time

Shift: 1st shift, 8am-4pm, Monday-Friday, OT Eligible

Shift Type: Non-rotational

A Fortune 100 steel manufacturer is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join their team at their manufacturing facility in Ventura, CA. This role is best suited for someone with strong hands-on electrical maintenance experience who can troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment, facility equipment, test equipment, and electro-mechanical systems
• Perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment to reduce downtime and improve reliability
• Troubleshoot and repair 480V electrical systems, 3-phase motors, PLCs, control panels, relays, breakers, fixtures, and circuit boards
• Use multimeters, clamp meters, current testers, and oscilloscopes to diagnose electrical and control issues
• Install, modify, and repair electrical equipment, conduit, raceways, wiring, panels, and controls
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, drawings, NEC, and NFPA 70E standards
• Support day-to-day maintenance operations and assist with equipment upgrades or new equipment development
• Follow proper Lockout/Tagout procedures and maintain a clean, safe work area
• Train or support less-experienced maintenance personnel as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical/electronic maintenance experience
• Strong manufacturing maintenance background preferred
• Strong experience with 3-phase electrical systems, 480V, PLC troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical controls, motors, panels, relays, breakers, and machine control systems
• Working knowledge of Ohm’s Law, analog controls, digital controls, NEC, NFPA 70E, and Lockout/Tagout
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
• Must provide own trade tools
