Developmental Specialist - Spanish Speaking

The Developmental Specialist provides evaluation, assessment, intervention, and support services to infants and toddlers (birth to age three) with developmental delays or disabilities. Working within a family-centered model, this position partners with caregivers to promote development across all domains and enhance the child’s participation in daily routines.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Conduct developmental evaluations, screenings, and ongoing assessments across developmental domains (cognitive, social-emotional, communication, adaptive, and motor)
- Develop and implement individualized family service plans
- Provide direct services in natural environments including the family home
- Coach and educate families on strategies to support child development within daily routines and activities
- Monitor progress and adjust interventions based on data and child and family response
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and comply with state and federal guidelines
- Ensure services are culturally responsive and family centered
- Provide translation services for families as needed within the early intervention program
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in early childhood education, child development, psychology, social work, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of child development and early intervention practices
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing Spanish
Preferred Or Trainable/on-the-job Qualifications
- Experience working with infants, toddlers, or children with developmental delays
- Experience with IFSP development and Part C early intervention systems
- Familiarity with routines-based intervention
Physical Requirements
- Ability to actively engage with young children
- Ability to travel between service locations

The purpose of the Baby Watch Early Intervention Program (BWEIP) is to enhance early growth and development in infants and toddlers, who have developmental delays or disabilities, by providing individualized support and services to the child and their family. Early Intervention (EI) services are provided through a family coaching model that focuses on helping children meet goals in all areas of development.
