O’Connor Injury Law is a growing Staten Island personal injury law firm that helps injured people with compassion, care, and respect. We are looking for a full-time Intake Specialist to be the first point of contact for potential clients, current clients, attorneys, insurance companies, and others who contact our office.
This is an important role for someone who is warm, organized, dependable, emotionally intelligent, comfortable on the phone, and able to help people who may be stressed, injured, or unsure of what to do next.
About the Role
As our Intake Specialist, you will help create a great first impression for the firm. You will speak with potential clients, gather important information, help determine whether a matter may be a good fit for the firm, and support clients and team members throughout the intake process.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in helping people, communicates clearly, follows through, and enjoys being part of a small, supportive team.
Salary range is $50,000 - $65,000
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Answering phone calls in a professional, friendly, and compassionate manner
- Speaking with potential clients and gathering key facts about their situation
- Helping evaluate whether a potential case may be a good fit for the firm
- Explaining the firm’s services to potential clients
- Preparing and sending intake and retainer paperwork using electronic signature software
- Scheduling appointments and maintaining calendar items
- Tracking leads in the firm’s CRM and spreadsheets
- Opening new matters and documenting case-related activity in the firm’s case management system
- Communicating with clients by phone, email, and text
- Providing general administrative support, including scanning documents, processing mail, and related office tasks
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Customer service, phone, reception, intake, administrative, or similar experience
- Excellent communication skills and a warm, professional phone presence
- Compassion, patience, and the ability to speak with people who may be stressed or upset
- Strong attention to detail and good follow-through
- Comfort using computers, email, spreadsheets, Google Workspace, Adobe, and learning new software
- Ability to follow written procedures, checklists, and systems
- Dependability, punctuality, and a positive attitude
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and multitask as needed
- Staten Island residents preferred
Legal experience is helpful, but not required.
