The organization has been thriving with its new Lean program, implemented by a, 'bottoms up' approach.
With this, we are working with the Executive Director of Supply Chain Operations to seek a Regional Operational Excellence Leader to drive best in class ways of working across the regional plants.
They will drive the CI culture to strive for a 'one best way' and support the operations in accessing and utilizing Lean and Operational Excellence tools. This professional will be able to be a hands on lean expert, with an agile set of skills such as operation leadership and lean coaching to ensure that they can locate potential for waste reduction and drive growth and capability.
This professional will need to be a hands on and strategic leader, well experienced with lean manufacturing processes and an ability to be both hands on and strategic.
They will report directly to the Executive Director of Supply Chain Operations, with endless opportunity for growth and organizational influence.
Role responsibilities.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses into operational issues to identify root causes independently and in collaboration with plant resources, including Engineering and Operational Excellence (OpEx) teams.
- Facilitate and promote the sharing of OpEx best practices across multiple plant locations.
- Provide operational improvement insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Lead efforts to resolve operational challenges and improve overall plant performance.
- Perform data analysis using SAP, Power BI, and other business systems to evaluate key performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Identify operational improvement opportunities and support plants in developing actionable and executable improvement plans.
- Support the growth, tracking, and overall health of the performance improvement initiative pipeline.
- Participate in financial management calls, lead investigations, and take corrective actions as needed.
- Analyze monthly operational and financial trends to identify areas of overperformance and underperformance.
- Lead regional Operational Excellence and continuous improvement initiatives while providing guidance on appropriate methodologies and approaches.
- Partner closely with Supply Chain Operations leadership to ensure improvement initiatives are executed effectively and on schedule.
- Lead and/or participate in Kaizen events and continuous improvement activities across manufacturing operations.
- Train, demonstrate, and coordinate Lean manufacturing implementation efforts on the production floor.
- Support plant Lean teams in sustaining improvements and operational gains achieved through Lean initiatives.
- Assist management teams in identifying, implementing, and standardizing operational best practices across facilities.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- 5+ years of experience of directly relevant experience within a role focused on Operational Excellence and/or Continuous Improvement
- Prior experience in a similar role within Supply Chain or Manufacturing Operations
- Prior experience leading operational excellence and/or continuous improvements efforts across multiple plant locations within a region
- Lean Six Sigma Certification
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
- Knowledge of financial measurements and goals in a fast-paced business
- Strong data analytics capability with working knowledge of Power BI
- Strong project management skills
- Solid project management skills
- Demonstrated success in leading and driving sustained changes on the manufacturing/production floor
- Demonstrated success leading and/or kaizen events focused on Supply Chain or Manufacturing Operations
- Ability to teach, coach and lead advanced training in Lean methodologies, 5S, SMED, VSM, Kaizen and other continuous improvement methodologies.
