Contribute to our communities by helping the Utah Office of Recovery Services (ORS) in their mission to promote responsibility, by providing child support services and support for children in care to help ensure parents are financially responsible for their children. The Accounting Unit in the Taylorsville ORS office is looking for a dedicated individual to work as is an Accounting Technician III. This position is responsible for posting payments for Child Support and Medical Collections. We are looking for a motivated, friendly, team-oriented individual who will:
- Post large volume of payments to accounts.
- Contact or respond to client inquiries complying with ORS policy and procedures.
- Conduct research to analyze facts and applies knowledge to postings.
- Reconcile and balancing of accounts and spread sheets.
- Assist with filing daily work into filing cabinet.
- Assist with shredding of check batches.
- Assist with training new posting employees.
Qualifications
Highly skilled administrative and clerical professional with advanced typing and 10-key proficiency, backed by solid basic accounting and mathematical strengths to resolve balancing issues. Proficient in managing office principles and procedures, with expertise in navigating computer relational databases, Microsoft Word, and Excel to enter, transcribe, and organize secure electronic files. Demonstrates a strong capacity for document quality control, utilizing logical problem-solving and deep knowledge of regulations to make informed decisions and propose quality solutions.
A self-motivated worker who prioritizes tasks effectively under tight deadlines, while maintaining a positive history of professional, tactful communication. Exceptionally skilled at handling difficult situations with angry clients, possessing the strong verbal and written communication abilities necessary to manage both internal and external relationships with maximum sensitivity and professionalism
