Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities and day to day responsibilities of this position:

  • Verify and review third party insurance referrals through phone and online resources
  • Review claims paid by Medicaid for filing to a third party insurance carrier
  • Review correspondence to determine the status of the filed claims
  • Make phone calls or use online resources for insurance carriers and providers to determine status of the filed claims
  • Review payments received and verify that they are credited correctly to cases and debts
  • Prepare documents and claims for mail
  • Conducts research to analyze facts, and apply knowledge of the Office of Recovery Services rules, regulations, and policies
  • Ability to interpret, clarify, explain and apply agency policy and procedures, business practices, federal or state laws and regulations

Qualifications

Minimum or "day-one" qualifications

  • Familiar with office setting
  • Basic computer skills, familiarity with spreadsheets and word processing
  • Good customer service skills
  • Good communication skills; verbal and written
  • Teachability- must take direction and recall information
  • Ability to stay focused while working in a fast paced work environment

Preferred Or Trainable/on-the-job Qualifications

  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and word processing
  • Strong communication skills
  • Takes direction as well as initiative
  • Familiar with medical insurance practices
