Electrical Superintendent

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to lead electrical construction activities on commercial and industrial projects. The Electrical Superintendent will oversee on-site electrical work, coordinate crews and subcontractors, ensure compliance with plans, specifications, safety regulations, and schedules, and maintain communication with project management and stakeholders to deliver high-quality installations on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily electrical construction activities, including installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
  • Plan, schedule, and assign work to electricians, apprentices, and subcontractors to meet project milestones and deadlines.
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and engineering instructions to ensure installations comply with project requirements and codes.
  • Monitor quality of work and perform inspections to verify that materials and workmanship meet company and industry standards.
  • Enforce safety policies and OSHA regulations, conduct safety meetings, and ensure safe work practices across the site.
  • Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to resolve coordination issues and maintain project progress.
  • Track labor productivity, material usage, and equipment needs; report status, delays, and potential risks to project management.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and performance feedback to crew members to develop skills and maintain high team performance.
  • Manage onsite change requests, document site conditions, and maintain daily reports, logs, and punch lists.
  • Coordinate testing, commissioning, and turnover activities, including handing over documentation, as-built drawings, and warranties to the client.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of electrical construction experience with at least 3 years in a superintendent or lead role.
  • Journeyman electrician license or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Proven experience managing electrical crews on commercial or industrial construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Proficient in construction scheduling, basic project management, and reporting tools; familiarity with Procore, PlanGrid, or similar software is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and travel to project sites as needed.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to pass background and drug screening.
