Position Overview

The Software Development Team Lead is responsible for leading a team of developers in the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-level Java applications. This role blends hands-on technical expertise with people leadership, ensuring the team produces scalable, high-quality software solutions aligned with business objectives.

This position plays a key role in guiding architecture, maintaining development standards, and driving execution across the full software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate is both a strong technical contributor and an effective team leader who can mentor developers, provide direction, and collaborate across Agile teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of 3 to 5 software developers, providing mentorship, coaching, and performance guidance.
  • Drive the design and development of complex Java-based applications aligned with business requirements and technical standards.
  • Provide technical leadership to ensure delivery of scalable, resilient, and maintainable software solutions.
  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to align technical solutions with business goals and project timelines.
  • Conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and maintain high standards of code quality and performance.
  • Support architectural design decisions and contribute to long-term technical strategy.
  • Identify opportunities to improve development processes, team efficiency, and overall system performance.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of projects while balancing team workload and priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading or managing software development teams.
  • Strong background in programming languages such as Java, Angular, or JavaScript.
  • Experience developing and mentoring technical teams in a collaborative environment.
  • Proven experience managing full project lifecycles from concept through delivery.
  • Strong understanding of software development best practices, including Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
