Senior Network Administrator

IN THIS ROLE
You will provide technical coordination of network server administration and account management on the network and in cloud environments. You will maintain the availability, functionality, and performance of the network environment, including, but not limited to, voice, video, and data application utilization. You’ll also provide design, integration, and maintenance expertise for all the organization and district environments.
WHAT WE NEED
- Creates and manages the automation of staff, student and administrator logins, as well as network permissions including Active Directory organization, password policies, permissions and groups.
- Manages Domains and Trusts, Sites and Services, and all Active Directory Federated Services connections.
- Manages and maintains Google Administration, deployment, configuration, accounts, Chrome devices, GSuite apps, Google API development, Google Active Directory and password sync, and backend scripting management.
- Serves as primary administrator of Office 365 Administration, deployment, Azure Active Directory and Microsoft Store for education; configurations, licensing, content management and backend scripting management.
- Analyzes, designs, and implements enterprise technologies such as Physical Servers, Virtual Servers, Vmware, SAN network, Storage Arrays, Backup, and Disaster Recovery solutions.
- Provides resources for virtual servers and Storage Arrays while maintaining performance and stability of the environment.
- Troubleshoots and resolves issues of datacenter technologies.
- Monitors all IT systems daily for issues, outages, and plan preventive maintenance or purchases required to maintain the environment.
- Participates in organizational and team meetings.
- Installs and tests hardware and software packages to evaluate use cases for Oakland Schools and local school districts.
- Provides 3rd tier support of servers and applications.
- Trains team members as needed on Enterprise hardware and software.
- Evaluates district datacenter assets and provides support as needed.
- Obtains quotes or participates in a bid process to procure equipment based on needs of Oakland Schools and local School Districts.
- Assists the Network Engineer in setting up, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting VLAN's, IP routing, radius servers, wireless network policies, connectivity issues and other network related equipment.
- Assists the Network Security Engineer and Network Engineer with security related issues, using applications for inspection and removal such as Barracuda, PowerShell scripting, AD auditing, content and security queries.
- Assists the Network Engineer in supporting the installation, configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting of some network related equipment, including enterprise class routers and switches.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and four years of network administration experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

This position is eligible to participate in the Flexible Work Program, which permits employees to perform their job duties for up to two days a week from a designated alternative location.
SALARY DETAILS
$75,604 - $87,680 hourly or salary based on relevant prior work experience, with the potential to earn up to $94,420 after employment with Oakland Schools.
