Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager – Operations to lead our Phoenix, Arizona manufacturing facility specializing in high-precision CNC machined components and assemblies serving Aerospace, Semiconductor, Medical Device, Energy, and Industrial markets.

The General Manager will be responsible for the overall business performance of the facility, including full Profit & Loss (P&L) ownership, operational excellence, customer relationship management, manufacturing engineering, quality, supply chain, and workforce development.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in precision manufacturing environments, strong engineering acumen, and a proven track record of leading global operations within OEM or Tier-1 manufacturing organizations.

This role requires a strategic leader capable of driving growth, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Business & P&L Leadership

  • Assume full responsibility for plant profitability, revenue growth, cost optimization, and overall financial performance.
  • Develop and execute strategic business plans aligned with organizational growth objectives.
  • Drive EBITDA improvement through operational efficiencies, productivity enhancement, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, capital investment planning, and resource allocation.

Manufacturing Operations Leadership

  • Direct all manufacturing operations including CNC machining, manufacturing engineering, assembly, sub-assembly, surface processing, inspection, quality, maintenance, planning, and logistics.
  • Optimize plant capacity, throughput, OEE, labor productivity, and manufacturing costs.
  • Ensure on-time delivery, operational efficiency, and superior product quality.
  • Drive operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.

Manufacturing Engineering & Technical Leadership

  • Provide strong leadership to Manufacturing Engineering teams focused on process development, productivity improvement, automation, tooling, and new technology implementation.
  • Lead initiatives to improve manufacturability, process capability, cycle time reduction, and quality performance.
  • Champion Industry 4.0 and advanced manufacturing initiatives where applicable.

Customer & Client Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, OEMs, strategic partners, and global stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary executive interface for customer escalations, business reviews, and growth opportunities.
  • Support business development initiatives through customer engagement and operational excellence.

Global Operations & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate with global operations teams to ensure consistency in manufacturing standards, quality systems, and best practices.
  • Support global customer requirements and multi-site operational strategies.
  • Lead cross-functional teams across Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Program Management, and Finance.

Quality, Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 13485, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Drive a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.

Talent Development

  • Build, mentor, and develop high-performing leadership teams.
  • Drive succession planning, leadership development, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • MBA or advanced business qualification preferred.
  • Minimum 15+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Minimum 7+ years in a senior plant leadership, operations leadership, or general management role.
  • Demonstrated P&L ownership and accountability within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong expertise in Manufacturing Engineering and Precision Machining operations.
  • Proven experience managing complex CNC machining and manufacturing operations.
  • Experience working within OEM, Tier-1, or highly regulated manufacturing environments.

Preferred Industry Experience

Candidates should possess experience in one or more of the following sectors:
