Work Culture
The Michigan Recycling Coalition is a mission-based nonprofit that operates with a small but mighty staff of 7 employees. We pride ourselves on cultivating a work environment where everyone’s talents and strengths are recognized and applied. Operating as a small organization, with big goals of growing a reliable, state-wide network of professionals, we operate with a real DIY mentality. If we have a big idea, there’s no one else that can do it but us. Thus, creativity and ingenuity are incredibly valued in our day-to-day work and employees are often given the creative freedom to brainstorm, develop, and implement projects and ideas of their own making. With an IT department of one, and most organizational tasks carried out in-house, MRC employees are often asked to learn and grow in ways they may not expect. From carrying out the logistics of our annual conference, to brainstorming ways in which our projects can grow in the future, every team member will be challenged with learning and leading something they’ve never done before during their time with us. Even so, you will always have the support of all team members in stepping into new roles and responsibilities.
