Title: Information Systems Manager
Location: Boise, ID
Position Overview
The Information Systems Manager will lead the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the organizations IT systems and infrastructure to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient operations. This role combines technical leadership with team management and strategic planning to align systems and services with business goals, minimize downtime, and protect company data through strong cybersecurity and disaster recovery practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute IT strategy and roadmaps that support business objectives and scalable system growth.
- Manage, mentor, and coordinate IT staff and external vendors to deliver day-to-day operations, projects, and support services.
- Oversee network administration tasks including design, configuration, monitoring, and optimization of LAN/WAN, wireless, and remote access solutions.
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives: implement security controls, monitor threats, perform vulnerability assessments, and manage incident response processes.
- Design, document, test, and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure rapid recovery of systems and data.
- Manage server, storage, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure including provisioning, patching, and performance tuning.
- Establish and enforce IT policies, standards, and procedures to maintain compliance with regulatory and industry requirements.
- Oversee procurement, licensing, vendor relationships, and budget planning for IT hardware, software, and services.
- Coordinate cross-functional projects to deploy new applications or system upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Provide escalated technical support for complex issues, maintain system documentation, and deliver training to end users and staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of progressive IT experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Proven experience in network administration (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs) and hands-on systems engineering.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles and experience implementing security frameworks, incident response, and vulnerability management.
- Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining disaster recovery and business continuity plans, including backup and restore operations.
- Familiarity with server and storage technologies, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Relevant certifications preferred such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or ITIL.
- Excellent problem-solving, project management, and vendor management skills with attention to budget and service-level expectations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize competing demands, and lead teams through incident response and recovery activities.
