Choral Program Director/Visiting Instructor
The Presbyterian College Department of Music invites applications for a non-tenure track position to build a robust, sustainable choral program and lead the PC Choir.
Responsibilities:

  • Up to 40% of the time the first year will be spent in student recruiting activities for those who will enter in the fall of 2023 and beyond. Recruiting activities include, but are not limited to, prospect management for prospective students, coordinating with Admissions for effective and timely written and oral communications; communications with high school choral directors, church music directors, and others to identify possible qualified students; travel to schools and churches to recruit students, and participate in Admissions open houses and other special on-campus visitation days.
  • Plan and execute rehearsals with the choir.
  • Plan, teach, and administer related music courses as assigned.
  • Work with other music faculty to contribute to the presentation of special department programs.
  • Work with other music faculty to facilitate music scholarship auditions.
  • Build and maintain a quality choral program that contributes to the overall success and growth of the Department of Music.

  • Have proven strength in contributing to the creative process and providing strategic solutions that will benefit the department as a whole

Education, Certifications, and/or Licenses
DMA in Choral Conducting, with an emphasis in Church Music preferred. Will consider a master’s degree in music with significant professional experience.
